I stumbled across this book while searching for something to read while on vacation. The title was interesting and the book's description seemed humorous. But then again , haven't we heard the losing weight stories and the foibles of the protagonist's friends.Definitely not the case with this book. The author writes as if he's telling me the story and that individual narration drew me in. I actually wanted to meet the author and the character's for a burger and a beer. They were that real.
I read the entire book while lounging around the pool and then took it down to the beach to finish it. The story was interesting, believable and very humorous. The characters were real and I am sure I sure a few of them back home.
I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
And thank goodness for Betty Crocker, for without her the author may never have written this book.

I have struggled with my weight for years. It's always been a roller coaster ride.
When I saw the cover of the book, I thought I was looking at myself. I had to read it.
As I started reading, I thought it would be a comedy all the way through. The author drew me in right away. When he start taking about his family I was hooked. Coming from a Italian family I could relate. But the author wasn't(you will have to read the book *hint Challah Bread). Maybe that's what we have in common; bread.
This was a great read. I can't believe I finished it in a weekend. Just got lost in the moment.
